Gambit alternatives

Is there any viable alternative to Gambit as a preprocessor for Fluent6?

Re: Gambit alternatives

Sure, there are many alternatives, but it is difficult to recommend anything without knowing what kind of applications & geometries you need it for.

Re: Gambit alternatives

ICEM HEXA is very nice for turbomachinery blading. Other alternatives are Gridgen from Pointwise, Gridpro from PDC or perhaps a tool from Numeca. I'd recommend HEXA.

Re: Gambit alternatives

What do you think about some sort of meshing contest. Lets define some geometries (blade, scroll) and the specifications (periodic bc for the blade, the wall spacing ... ). Now everybody can create the mesh with his prefeered tool.

Jonas can collect the links where to download the files and make all of them public at the same time.

I personally like TrueGrid. But you can visit these sites to see which one might be suitable for you. All of them can be use with fluent.
