is it possible to model a free surface without the multiphase model? If yes, how?

Re: free surface

Hello,

I don't think so. In a free-surface flow, you will have cells with fluid, and empty (air-filled) cells. This is a multiphase flow by definition. There is no way to initialise your solution without a multiphase model.

Re: free surface

FIDAP of Fluent company uses ALE method to simulate single phase free surface flow.

Thank you

It is in FIDAP's manual. FIDAP is another product of Fluent company.
