Segmentation Voilation

Dear Fluent Experts,

I was solving a unsteady compressible problem, when the solution converged within the time steps I set, it gave me the following messages:

Error: Fluent.5.5.14 recieved a fatal signal (SEGMENTATION VOILATION) Error object: #f

Iterating again, would give me a quicker convergence with the same error message.

Does anyone know what the message means?

Many thanks and regards, Duc Nhin Ha

Re: Segmentation Voilation

I think the problem might be in setting one of your boundary conditions.

Re: Segmentation Voilation

Thanks,

What I have is a thin rectangular film, the upper boundary is an oscillating (in the Y dir) wall defined by an unsteady velocity UDF. The lower wall is stationary, the left and right boundaries are exits open to ambient, I set those as Pressure Outlets. It is clear that I haven't defined an inlet for the flow, as both pressure outlets also acts as inlets, depending if the film is compressed or depressed by the moving wall. Are these boundaries practical for Fluent?

Once again, thank you for your help.
