Fluid flow
I am currently doing my final year project on the "Analysis of Pressure Transients Caused by The Entry of A Train Into A Tunnel".
Is there any websites, books, journals or tutorial that i can refer to that is relevant on how to model a train entering a tunnel portal in 3D space?? Please advice... |
Re: Fluid flow
Do you have access to massive parallel computing facilities ?:)

Re: Fluid flow
sorry, i do not really know what is "massive parallel computing facilities" but i think i will be able to access most of the computers in the school. By the way i am using Gambit 1.1 and Fluent 5/6 for my work.

Re: Fluid flow
How details you wannna model of the structure of the train ? Are the humen travelling in the train ? Will they be breating ? What about heat loss from their bodies? Are they of same size ? What kind of engine are you considering to consider the heat generation? The tunnel itself is of regular shape ? ser chong you are in trouble !!! DC

Re: Fluid flow
Basically, i would like to investigate the pressure pulses generated and propagating in the tunnel during the entering at the tunnel portal.
Modeling a simple model will do, i am also assuming no wheels, condensing units and others under or on top of the train. It would just look like a long rectangular block entering a rectangular hole. Later, i would also like to know what type of portal entry shape will reduce the pressure waves. |
