Dear all..

I need to clarify somthing on scaling the grid in fluent... I drew my grid in Gambit and exported to fluent...

Here, i scaled the grid in 'm' but i used a scaling factor of 0.01 as i created my grid to be read in cm(i tried using cm but didnt seem to work..so i did this method)..

After this, i had to input some amount of volumetric heat source in a disc created in my geoemtry..Since im using metres already in fluent, when i calculated the volume of the disc, i converted it to metres . Then i divided the power with the volume calcuated in 'm(cube)'.i got a very high volumetric heat generation. Is wht im doing correct?.. I keep getting very high temperatures in my disc..2000K! Plz help....

You can check the volume of the source by volume integral - volume and select the volume...Also see the heat going out of the walls of the source volume, is this the heat load you wanted?

There can be problem when this volume is not attached to rest of the domain, so check coupleing of walls properly.

I hope this helps you!

Thnx for your reply..

I only input the volumetric heat generation in the internal disc-shaped volumes as they are the heat sources...this solid regions form a wall-shadow tog with their wall..for these walls, i choose the coupling options and left the heat generation as 0 since they are coupled.. Is my method correct?
