DPM - Melting of Solid particles
I'm trying to model the behaviour of solid particles in an HVOF thermal spray torch. I'm using UDFs to define the transport properties of the fluid using equilibrium chemistry, so no actual combustion model is being used in Fluent.
During the course of the particles life inside the torch it should experience heating of the solid particle, followed by a period of melting, then heating of the liquid particle. However, fluent can't seem to model this using a inert-particle injection.
I was wondering if anyone has suggestions on how to handle the heat of fusion during the transition from solid to liquid phase.
