modelling of flow between methane and air

hi!!

is it possible in FLUENT 5.4 to analyse the flow between two fluids (methane and air) without any chemical reaction. i tried to use injections but in that methane is not mentioned...plz help me

i am also trying to do methane - air combustion, however since ihave to analyse natural gas combustion, i am using partially premixed combustion model (since NOx models are not available with premixed-combustion models). well you can try partially premixed model also, for methane and air.

use species transport, and define your mixture components in the material-panel.

Laika, still orbiting

Hi, I'm a newbie in Fluent but I believe that you can use the Eddy Break Up Model. Is it available on the code, right? Well, once you've set up your problem find out a way to set the A constant of the reaction rate (which is function of turbulent parameters) to zero. Then you'll have a null reaction rate giving you no products. This may work.
Good luck, cfd guy

and if you are still not able to do it

drop me an email, i will send you relevent files and instructions in detail to model it.

thanks
