Euler model
Hello Is Euler-Euler model ..a better way to model nozzle spray ?? or do we have any restrictions in it ? If someone finds an example or tutorial other than fluent to model Spray ..please provide me with the info.

Re: Euler model
As a my personal point of view, in general, DPM is better than spray model. However, mass flow rate of droplet(or particle) is very high, E-E model is preferred.
Let droplet mass flow rate, D, and gas mass flow rate, G. In general, D/G < 0.2, DPM without interaction between two phases. D/G > 0.2, DPM with interaction between two phases. The limitation of DPM is the ratio of volume flow rate, D_vol/G_vol about 0.1(10%)~0.15(15%). My personal experience, the ratio of mass flow rate, D/G exceeds 2~3, convergence has some problem. So, E-E model is recommended for D/G >> 1. Sincerely, Jinwook |
Re: Euler model
Hello there Thanks for the reply. However,my problem includes inlet condition of water(as a continous medium ) and air mixing .DPM model would require liquid ( water) phase to be injected as Particles isnt it ??I would like to send the inlet Liquid not as particle but as a continuous flow until the air interacts with it and by its shear force forms droplets. I did find that ..If I use DPM model ,Im able to track only finite number of particles (which is equal to the GRID size at the liquid phase inlet ). But it is required that I wanna see water slowly disintegrating to form droplets and ...not like tracing the Water particles from the very beginning !
Awaiting ur reply Thanks Bharath |
Re: Euler model
Then, it is very difficult(actually, impossible) to solve your problem by E-E model of current Fluent version.
Instead, Fluent has couple of special models for the prediction of droplet formation in DPM option of Fluent 6.0 or higher. I never tried one of these models but I felt that it's very nice. Sincerely, Jinwook |
