frustration in VOF
Hi All, I find the VOF modeling of Fluent is very frustrating. Until now, I don't have any confidence of this multiphase model. Could you pls share your experience on: how to get solution from an unsteady (initially unsteady in nature) stat to a steady free surface state using VOF in Fluent??

Re: frustration in VOF
So far my experience is that it takes too long to obtain steady state and that the initial conditions rules the convergence of the problem. Another experience I can share is that is quite frustrating. Anyway fluent is not the best for this kind of problems.

I don't have hands on experiences but I've heard about flow3d and CFX-4. Can someone give an opinion?

Re: frustration in VOF
Hi Newbie Do you know any bugs in fluent6 (VOF)? Did you have any prob like disappearance of one fluid even though the solution converges?

Re: frustration in VOF
Not so far, my only complain is the time of convergence. It takes ages to arrive to steady state.
