how to numerical model the Gas tubine Combustor liner cooling holes. The Combustor CAN has got 10 linears, each linear has got set of cooling holes(dia 0.05 to 0.1 inch dia) i.e 70 approximately around the circumference. When we create air solid(fluid domain), we will having small cylindrical fluid passages 70 around each linear, which is very tedious to create and to meshing also.
So we want to define some equivalent surface area faces for these cooling holes. How to do it Fluent and what type of Boundary Condition we have to define. |

It's quite interesting question. We are thinking on the same. Can it be managed with 70 or 140 hole. We have to go for some heat transfer calculation to make sure that the same cooling effect is achieved as is earlier.
