As we have to deal with complex geometry everyday, it is quite frustrating sometime to use gambit as the preprocessor. Someone suggests us to use Hypermesh. We understand that Hypermesh is designed for FEA. So, Please give your opinion on using Hypermesh for Fluent. Any comments, especially from the experienced users, are appreciated. Thank you very much.

Hey Boris !
You can use HyperMesh for CFD too. It will take you a pretty long time to produce hex meshes, but for tet meshes it's really fine. You can even create boundary layers (prisms) with HyperMesh. Using any of the interfaces (for example Nastran) will take the mesh into fluent, but without any BC's (HyperMesh only deals with FEM BC's), so you have to define them in fluent.
Greetings, Marc

Thank you so much, Marc

Could kindly give a comparision of Hypermesh with Tgrid in Tet generation and Gambit in Hex generation? It is greatly appreciated if the advantage and weakness of them can be compared.

Looking forward to your valuable comments.

Boris
