Default DPM - setting the density and diameter

My problem concerns coal combustion. I need to control the density and diameter of the particles in a DEFINE_DPM_SCALAR_UPDATE macro. The problem is that I want to put the density to non-physical value, i.e. it doesn't fulfil rho = m/V. I let Fluent handle the mass. The diameter is set to a value by me, after which I set the density to a non-physical value. What happens is that Fluent is overriding my values. Help!
