Dear All Fluent Users?

I would like to invite the Fluent Users to run the following 2D problem on FLUENT 6.0.20 (6's). After you get the result, you post it your comment in this user discussion group or you and me can discuss it personally. Here is the problem?

|--------------------------------| | f | d| | g |--------------------------------|--------------| b| | | |--------------------------------|--------------| a| | | |--------------------------------|--------------| c| | | |--------------------------------|--------------| e| | | | |--------------------------------|

Lengths of edges

a = 0.1 m (Inlet 1): Velocity Inlet

b = 0.15 m (Inlet 2): Velocity Inlet

c = 0.15 m (Inlet 3) : Velocity Inlet

f = 12 m (wall edges)

g = 3 m (wall edges)

d = 0.96 m (wall edges)

e = 0.96 m (wall edges) Boundry conditions

U (Inlet 1) = 17 m/s (normal to the edge)

U (Inlet 2) = 2 m/s (normal to the edge)

U (Inlet 3) = 2 m/s (normal to the edge)

Models: Flows only with Standard k & epsilon

I used turbulent kinetic energi intensity 6 % and hydrodimanic diameter (0.1 m, 0.15 m and 0.15 m)

I run it and I got the solution. I would like you to try it and we discuss the result. PLEASE DO IT with FLUENT 6. I did it with Fluent 6.0.20.

Good Luck

Dear All

I am very sorry, the geometry description does not appear right as I type it using the post message window. I do not know how to make it right.

<font face = "courier new">Yazid:

the way to produce the text here as you have it in the diagram is to add the html tag "pre". DO this:

(1) Type <*pre> (without the star)
(2) Copy paste your figure in this text box
(3) Type <*/pre> (wihtout the star) followed by the figure.

The figure would appear as you wanted. Eg:

* *
* *
**

Dear Mr. FF

I got the results already. The results can be questioned and said to be "wrong'?

Hi,

Did you try double precison 2D software.

Is your mesh fine enough in high gradients regions.

Check Report->Reference Values... for Depth and then corect your hydraulic diameter in velocity inlet panel.

From your post I cant't see model geometry but for mixing two fluid streams of diferent velocities maybe mixing length turbulece model will give beter results.

Hope this will corect results.
