Default DPM - Particle velocities

Dear all,

I am simulating particle trajectories for powder coating process. Now,i want to get particle velocities at different positions inside the domain.

Ultimately,i want to have particle velocity profiles with axial positions.

Is there anyway to do so ??

I AM USING FLUENT 6.0.

Thanks,

Umesh

Yes you can do it

Report>Discrete phase>sample>injection> chose a line or a plane where you want to record you data.

Don't forget to write a UDF output if you only want to write a file with velocity instead of all the variables

Regards

Alex

Thanx Alex,

But you know,in that REPORT>DPM>SAMPLE>>>>

I can record those data on a chosen plane only and also that plane is like cross section of my whole domain so its of not use.Additionally,i get histogram only.

Now i need is the velocity profile of particles with axes .

I tried to chose very thin plane,as an altenative to line. But when i see grid display for that plane,it is not of the size i had given.I dont know how it is.

Can you write me about these things.

Thanx again,

Umesh
