This is a very good forum for new FLUENT users such as me. I met lots of nice person such as ALEX Munoz and Allan Walsh. And I obtained helpful information from this Forum.

When I read the earlier forum, there were Fluent technicians replying questions. I wonder whether they are still here? It will be great if we can have them answering our questions.

What do you think about it?

Hi hedonist

I do not from where are you from but careful the word "technicians" has a meaning of medium training people a least in the area that I work. In addition, I know some FLUENT support people and they are extremely qualify and therefore very busy solving case posted in their own fluent forum.

Personally, I like to help new Fluent user to develop their project faster!

Best Regards

Alex Munoz

Hi, Alex, where is the "their own fluent forum"?? Do we have access to that forum? Is there other forum as far as you know?

I'm not sure about FLUENT support people solving problems on their own discussion board. I just looked at it - they seem to average about 1 question per day, and there has not been a response from the moderator for at least the last week.

I think you have to be a registered Fluent user to access it, but in my experience you will get a lot more response to your postings here on the CFD-online site.

Of course, to be fair to Fluent, I guess they are more set-up to answer questions directly over the phone or by e-mail to their paying customers.

Hi Allan and Majestic

First at all, Fluent support reply question right away, but your question has to be really dificult something that you can not find the answer on the User's manual, and after several week of work!

You must to recognize that many junior Fluent users did not read the User guidelines, they just start to work without any understanting of the code parameters, discretization, UDF rules and even C programming knowledge.

As a result, when they face a problem their inmediate reaction is to posting questions in a discussion forum. Moreover, they do not search on the forum discussion if someone has ask the same question before. In my opinion they should first read and read about the models, limitations, and previous works to get some idea of the mesh, parameters, boundary condition etc.

Consequently, FLUENT support try to avoid a mass of Junior CFD users asking simple question that are address on the user's guide from page.

Best regards

Alex Munoz

Hello, All,

I have never used Fluent customer support, but I have heard that they charge Fluent users for technique support. Is this ture?

Thanks.

Steven
