Default Atmospheric boundary layer modelling

Hi,

I'm modelling an atmospheric boundary layer up to a height of 350m using Fluent. I'm using the k-e turbulence model with inlet profiles of u, k and e and wondered if there's anything particular I need to take into account to obtain a good result. In particular, which near wall treatment should I use. Also, what are good values to use for ground roughness Ks and CKs (flow is over mostly fields)?

If anyone has any experience of this kind of simulation I would be grateful for any advice.

James.

Hello James

I am working with the same thing but for stratified atmospheric boundary layer. Do you or anyone else have any good advice how to do it?

No I'm only working with the bottom 300m or so of the atmospheric boundary layer.

You need a modified k-E accounting for buoyancy.
