Gambit on RedHat 7.3 with recent nvidia driver
I'm having some trouble running gambit on a brand new PC running RedHat 7.3 with a recent nvidia driver (4191). The window only displays about 1/3 of all objects. If I start gambit with "-dev X11" things work but then it is very slow due to the lack of any hardware accelaration. Any clues to what might fix this aside from downgrading the nvidia driver? (it works on another machine with a 2* series nvidia driver).

Re: Gambit on RedHat 7.3 with recent nvidia driver
This is an issue Fluent has yet to address. I have had an ongoing problem running GAMBIT 2/2.0.4 on Red Hat 7.1 with NVIDIA Quadro 2 and GE-Force 2. Cannot run the graphics accelerators...only X11!

Re: Gambit on RedHat 7.3 with recent nvidia driver
Gambit works on our RedHat 7.2 machines with older nvidia drivers (2* series). These machines have Quadro 2 cards. Hence, you might want to try an older nvidia driver. The machines we have problem with are brand new and have Quadro 4 cards and more recent 4* series nvidi drivers.

Re: Gambit on RedHat 7.3 with recent nvidia driver
Thanks for the tip. I installed the nvidia 2* series libs/drivers. Gambit runs with opengl now. Perhaps nvidia drivers need to updated in your case. I am getting new machines with quadro 4 cards and may contact you later on to see how your issue is resolved.

Re: Gambit on RedHat 7.3 with recent nvidia driver
We seem to have solved the problems. With the most recent nvidia driver (4363) gambit works in open gl mode. We had the problems with the 4191 driver.
We just got it up and working so I haven't really tested it that much yet but the previous problems with missing objects has dissapeared. |
