I have used fluent for several month , but finally I found fluent is of no help as it comes to my project,i.e water-solid particle flowing at the tube(the solid particle melt and absorb heat, enhancing the heat transfer).the solidification/melting model built into fluent, however, just doesn't fit such a particle melting case.

Dear friend,do you have any suggestion?

Now i am thinking about writing code by myself, and accounting for the phase change.can i use some methods and call for the Fluent solver in my c-language code?Does fluent provide such an API for user?

Possible? thanks every body.

Hi my magestic friend

I think you should breath deeply and think twice.

If you want to write your own code, you have to request to Fluent support some of the variable macros that are not available, which could take months. In addition, I know that some people have write their own code and after several months there code just provides 5% better results that the default model in Fluent. Moreover, some people expend tremendous amoung of time try to make their model converge.

In conclusion, practice your YOGA before making a decision to write your own code. I my opinion just finish your project with what you have and move on to another one.

Best Regards

Your trully friend

I also fully agree with above comments, I feel YOGA is better option.

Hi phd_y2k....

I wish to be a fluent agent! I have working a lot with fluent during the last year, and also I have many friends that have tried to improve the hydrodynamic model with no significant improvements.

Best regards
