Is vector plot reliable?

Hi all,

I apply a constant inlet velocity in r-direction at boundary condition panel. When I solve the problem, and used vector plot for examining the radial velocities, I found that the there are axial components too (at the boundary), but when I just used xy plot, I saw the radial velocity that I expected. Do you think there is a problem with vector display, or I do something wrong? I used FLUENT 6.

Thank you, Mazyar

Re: Is vector plot reliable?

When you plot, for example, vectors of velocity, you plot the whole velocity vector field (axial + radial).

When you choose Readial Velocity, you just influence vector colors and the lateral scale.

You have to define a custom vector to plot radial velocity.
