Hello,

When I use fluent to simulate water evaporation I meet a problem. The equipment is as below. The liquid water is downwards along the wall and the very hot gas is through the center part of the pipe. Because of heat transfer, such as convection and radiation, the water will be evaporated and maybe no liquid water exists at neighborhood of the pipe outlet.

I want to know which multiphase model I need, VOF, Mixrure or Euler-Euler.

Please give me some advice.

Thanks.

Hi

Evaporation is a kind of species mixing problem in Fluent. The vaporized liquid enters as concentrations in species transport equation. So, you may consider using the Discrete Phase Model... I dont think other general multiphase models can handle the species mixing.

Hope this helps,

Chendhil.

Hey, Well you can use the euler-euler model and set species transport by UDS.

I'm not sure, but Fluent has a tutorial on liquid spray evaporation. In that tutorial, species modeling: species transport.
