I am currently using Fluent 6 to create a 3D model of a free surface representing the interface between water and air. Has anyone already done this? I am using a laminar, time dependant model and the fluids are imiscible. Any suggestions would be gratefully recieved.

The most apropriate model for this case is the VOF model, in my opinion. Is that model that you are using?

Hi!

I've done some good simulations (mostly test cases in 2 d) using vof in fluent 6.1.18. Previouslly i've had problems with fluent 6.0...

Hi I have some experience to model ski(2D)of an aircraft. I got very bad results with a triangular unstructured mesh, after more time steps. Note that more grid ortogonality at the wall boundries is very important. regards.
