about aluminium combustion,thank you

I want to use fluent6 to simulate aluminium particle combustion. I use DPM model, but I woder which particle type I should use , Droplet or Combusting?

And does Combusting particle type only for coal combustion ?

thanks to you!!

Hi

If you are considering any reaction, you need to select 'Combusting' particles. 'Droplet' will only deal with heating, evaporation, and boiling.

Combusting particles are not specific to coal. The approach is a generalized one for any surface type combustion. That should work for aluminum particles, provided you give appropriate properties.
