VOF-locating the surface??
Hi!
I'm modeling a multiphase flow inside a thank (air/water)using laminaer and unsteady flow, dynmesh and the VOF model. Does anyone know how I can locate the surface in general or close to the wall? I know that the volume fraction for each phase is availabele, but can't find it... any surgestions?? Thanks! Kristine |
Re: VOF-locating the surface??
Hi!
Im not shure if that is what you want...To set the initial shape of water in the tank you have to go to Adapt-Region Adaption and Mark the region where you want the certain wolume fraction. Than go to Solve-Initialize-patch and set the desired volume fraction. The problem is that you can only determine shapes like lines, and circles in region adaption. This is also explained in VoF tutorial... I hope i answered your question Regards MATEUS |
Re: VOF-locating the surface??
Hi, I am assuling you want to follow the free interface air-water during after calculation using fluent (= height, or other parameter ... ). What I could suggest is to set an iso-surface at volume fraction in water or air = to 0.5. That is gonna help you to locate the free surface (= interface water-air). hope this help thomas
