Turbulence Intensity
How do I calculate the turbulence intensity at the inlet of my pipe section to apply as a boundary condition. The pipe is 203mm in diameter and I know the reynolds number is 8.58e+06. Do I need to know any other information to calculate this?

Re: Turbulence Intensity
Hi,
You can used the following I = 0.16*Re^-1/8 Also see 6.2.2 in the Fluent manual Eric |
Re: Turbulence Intensity
Dear Eric, Then what will be the Intesity for natural convection, where Rayleigh number is criteria.

Re: Turbulence Intensity
I'm sorry have no experience with natural convection problems so i can't tell you anything about the turbulence intensity.
I just referred to the fluent manual 6.2.2 for this intensity formula. Regards Eric |
