Hi,

I have a rotating drum (2rpm) with fins on the wall. The flow is steady but I think the fact the wall rotates with fins makes the simulation unsteady.

I want to simulated this internal flow. However i want to avoid the unsteady simulation. Can i set the wall as a periodic boundary?

Or can I use the multiple refernece frame?

Any suggestions????

Eric

If you just want to avoid the unsteady simulation, of course you can use the multiple refernece frame. But I can't undertand why you want to set the wall as periodic boundary.

hi eric,

I think, the multiple refernece frame plus sliding interface will work. However, why not try to solve your problem in the rotating reference frame.

good luck.
