Vortexes not showing in Streamline drawing

I'm having trouble with fluent in the results part. the vortexes that are supposed to show are not there is just an empty space there.

is there something wrong with my mesh or is this drawing not of the stream lines or what is the problem ??

please help

Dear Nora
Are you have a 3D mesh? you can export result to tecplot and do better post processing

No actually it is a 2D problem of a cube in a channel. I want to show the stream lines as continuos lines with arrows indicating the direction. but i can't seem to do that. if you know how please tell me.

are you trying this in fluent or in cfd-post?

I guess you are releasing the stream lines from the inlet, right? Think of a little particle released from the inlet. It won't make it into the wake region of your cube because of separation of flow on top of the cube.

To avoid empty spaces you can define additional lines in the wake region and release streamlines from there. You can also do something like a backward release, but I'm not 100% sure about that. Further it is helpful to work with overlays (can be found in scenes).
A nice tutorial guide for postprocessing in fluent can be found by searching for "fluent fltg.pdf" (chapter 24).

You can also release the particles from the interior I think.
