Hello everybody I forgot to state that the pipe I should model transient natural gas flow in, is buried under the ground and I should also model heat transfer . So there exists three layers, i.e a gas layer bounded by the pipe and the soil surronding the pipe. Can I model heat transfer in this problem while modeling mass transfer? Please help me. Thanks

hi Leila,

Fluent can model conduction in solids. you should have three seperated zones in your model, a fluid zone for gas and two solid zones for pipe and soil, respectively. Do not forget to give properties of gas, pipe and soil in the material panel.

good luck.
