Rotational effects for flow in disc cavities

Hello all,

Could any one please guide me in giving the rotational effects to fluids in the disc cavities (discs rotating at around 15000 rpm).

1. Is the radial position of the fluid particles and the wall effects taken care automatically? 2.Or can we specify the rotational effect to the fluid zone through moving reference frame? If yes will it be taken for entire fluid zone near the stationary regions also?

Please clarify my doubt.

With Regards Karthik

You specify the center of rotation and that takes care of radial position of rotating fluid. You may have to select either SRF, MRF or SMM model depending on your interest... I think Fluent has one tutorial on rotating discs...
