Modelling underexpanded supersonic gas jets

Hi,

I am trying to model underexpanded gas jets using Fluent. The area of my interest is limited to the 1st two shock cells within the underexpanded jet. For all practical purposes the shock intereactions within this region of the jet is inviscid. But i am having difficulty attempting to model the flow as an inviscid flowfield. The jet boundary which is a highly viscous and turbulent region is proving to be the problem. Is there any means to introduce artificial viscosity terms into the solver? or has any one had succes in modelling jet flows using the inviscid solver?

any help to this regard is greatly appreciated.

cheers nandu
