Modelling steam/water flow

Hi,

I am attempting to model as flow situation where there is a pipe with water flowing through it, and at some point along the length of this pipe, steam is introduced to the water stream through an annular ring opening, resulting in a condensation of the steam and formation of condensation shocks in the flow. Is it possible to model this as a multiphase flow? if so how? any help to this regard os greatly appreciated

hello I think is better for you that use Discrete Phase Model (no Multiphase flow) because within you can simulate evaporation and spray and very different condition easily. for comprehensive comment please see below link (Sample of Modeling Evaporating Liquid Spray) http://gong.snu.ac.kr/down/on-line-d...tg/node209.htm

what about condensation in DPM, because the law 2 said: if the condensation exists, it will treat the droplets as inert (without mass transfer).
