Sliding mesh and Momentum Theory
Hi,
I have model a ship propeller and rotate it using sliding mesh method. The CFD prediction seems lower than the experimental results. As your information, the CFD and experimental predictions on velocity (dimensionless) are 0.82 and 1.1 respectively. So, I try to understand how does the sliding mesh method working. There is a question, When the propeller is rotating at 1000rpm, does the system assume it as an actuator disk which the flow passing over uniformly without any energy losses like the assumption in momentum theory? For anybody who have experienced this problem may be can give me a hand. Is that any relation between the sliding mesh and momentum theory? What is the assumption of the sliding mesh method? Or may be I think too much... Lam |
I am facing same problem? Any Idea??

Hi,
I am trying to do a sliding mesh setup aswell! Struggling to do the interfaces in icem, how do you do this? Thanks a lot for your help |
