Sliding mesh revolution
I am modeling a fan in 3D and was able to obtain a solution using the multiple reference frame model. When I try to run using a sliding mesh I get a grid interface error. My question is if the simulation runs using MRF are my interfaces definately surfaces of revolution.

Re: Sliding mesh revolution
Hi Dennis
(on review of message I suggest reading paragraph 2 first...) Check that the 2 volumes are not connected in Gambit. The sliding interface should consist of 2 faces (one for each volume on either side of the sliding boundary) which are not connected in Gambit. These you use to create a sliding-interface in Fluent. If you are unsure, you can use the new Fluent feature which allows previews of the mesh movement (without solving any flow equations). Do one timestep and then visualize the grid. If the faces are connected, you see "funny" lines between nodes on the 2 interfaces. hope this helps. |
Re: Sliding mesh revolution
Thank you very much that's exactly what I needed to get it working.
