VOF SURFACE TENSION EFFECTS

Hi,

I am able to get the expected inner and outer velocity fields for a free falling water drop in supercritical CO2 having diameters ~4mm, Re~7000 using 2D Axisymmetric VOF. But the fields for lower diameter drops (~2mm, Re~2000) especially with higher surface tension values shows very disordered velocity fields (I would expect 2 wakes inside, and 2 at outside the drop, but what I get is flow is seperated at degrees higher than 90°, there are many wakes in and out the drop) Is that a weakness of VOF under strong surface tension effects, or somethign with the problem set up can solve the problem? (I have tried 3D VOF without axisymmetry, that also did not give the proper fields)

Regards
