Hi, I have a "feeling" that when I use symmetry when modelling flow arounf car body I get forces report as if I was using full body. Is this true or just one of those "feelings"?
Thank you Ted |

You can get a force report around the half body you simulated. The whole body force will be twice of that.

Thank you Zhihua, I do understand that whole body firce is twice of half body. BUT I'm asking does fluent report forces for half body or whole body (when using symmetry and half body model) - as I sayd I have a feeling that it does report convert force report as for full body AUTOMATICALLY! Am I all wrong here? Sure I can run a full body simulation and see/compare the results but I thought it might be a bit easyir if I just ask
Thanks Ted |

It reports half body. If you are doubting about it, you can actually report it in two ways: 1. report force directly, 2. use integral of wall shear stress in x direction in "Report surface integrals", this way, you can actually choose the surface to be reported. This reulst should be the same as that is obtained in 1.
