Default Operating Pressure

I am using the incompressible ideal gas model to simulate a cold flow. My inlet boundary conditions are using a mass flow inlet, since I know the mass flow rate and temperature. The question I have is what should be the operating pressure? I also know the inlet pressure of 446.2 psia. Shouldn't the operating pressure be 14.7psi? My friend said that it should be 446.2psia + 14.7psi for a operating pressure of 460.9psi. Is he right? I would think it would be 14.7psi for operating pressure. I am throughly confused here. I am also getting reversed flow at the outlet. I have been using outflow conditions. Would using pressure outlet stop reverse flow? I also know the outlet pressure of 424psia. Any help?

Hi, read User's Guide 7.12

Operating pressure is the difference between the absolute and the gauge pressure, and it should be around the mean flow pressure in your case (i.e. around 435 psia).

I hope this helps,

Regards,

Ale
