What type of boundary for a moving rigid body?
A rigid body moves upward vertically inside water at a constant velocity. Dynamic mesh is used in this situation. But I wonder which type of boundary is suitable to define this rigid body, wall type or other types?

Hi,
You can define it as wall in Gambit or any other preprocessors of fluent. In the calculation with fluent, you need to choose the motion type of this wall e.g. UDF, boundary profile, and other items about the correspondent motion type. Hope it helps. Emma |

I use a rectangle to stand for this 2D rigid body. And it moves up vertically. There are four edges. Should I define all of them as the type of rigid body in Dynamic Zone panel? or define the top edge and bottom edge as rigid body, left and right edge as the type of deforming in the panel? For the vertically up-moving edge, it should be defined as rigid body, the two edges which are next to it could be defined as deforming. Another edge, if it doesn's move, is unnecessary to be defined in the dynamic mesh zone panel. Best luck! Emma |

In fact, all of the four edges move. Why can not make all these four edges as a face zone and define this face zone as rigid body?

Sure, you can define the four edges as a face zone and describe the motion type as regid body!
