radiation model
hello
i want to solve a combustion problem,but in the material i need to set the its property. i want to know what is the meaning of absorption coefficient, and the unit is 1/m thanks a lot |
Re: radiation model
Hi;
When a thermal radiation ray incident to a medium, a part of this ray reflected and the other part is interpenetrated into the medium. A part of this intrpenetrating ray is absorbed by the medium and the other part is transmitted out of the medium. To find the absorbed part of the incident radiation energy, you can multiply incident radiation energy by the absorbtion coefficient of the medium. This coefficient, is a property of the medium like density or Cp etc. Hope this help you ROOZBEH |
