Dear cfd guys and girls, i need to set my Fluent 5.3 for simulate high Mach number, so that i can see shockwave, can you people teach me how to set it??

Re: high mach number
Dear Arthur,
I think it will be easy if r able to convert the Mach Number in terms of Velocity in m/s so that you can specify the velocity itself, I am not so familiar with 5.3 version, this is one of the option. krishna. |
Re: high mach number
Thank you Khrisna.
I already tried your suggestion, but thre is a problem, when it iterating, the result become divergent, it indicates there are shockwave. Is it true that Fluent can't simulate shockwave??? |
Re: high mach number
HI! DO NOT SAY THAT AGAIN !!!!!!!! firstly to see shocks, study the flow around a simple curved object, or the flow in a converging nozzle. better do the first one. Far away from the foil apply FAR-FIELD BOUNDARY CONDITIONS with 101325 pressure, Mach=1.8 Set OPERATING CONDITIONS TO 0 from 101325 and run inviscid model. For the airfoil use no slip conditions (WALL).you will see the shocks. I am writing papers with Fluent on Hypersonic flow if you want anything contact good luck!

Re: high mach number
SORRY.... STK! I really don't mean it. anyway what's your email, i'd like to contact you bout supersonic flow (mach number=2.3)
where i can find FAR-FIELD BOUNDARY CONDITIONS in Fluent??? Thank you very much!!!!! |
Re: high mach number
