Unsteady drop deformation under zero gravity
Hello:
I am simulating a unsteady drop deformation under zero gravity uniform flow in Fluent. I am not getting any change in shape of drop. Drop is moving towards downstream direction but no change in shape which is a desirable for this simulation. I am using - (In SI Units) Liquid density=500 Gas density =1.225 Gas velocity at inlet = 1.2 m/sec Duct size= 10 cm in X-dir and 20 cm in y-dir grid : 200 cells in X and 200 in Y dir Bubble diameter 1mm (Re)liquid=200 (Re)gas=20 time step=1e-4 Webber number=8 and 40 I ran the case upto 2 seconds. Any help or comments will be apriciated... Thanks in advance. Ron |
Re: Unsteady drop deformation under zero gravity
Hi, Refine your mesh so that AT LEAST you have 10 cells along the diameter of your drop. Which multiphase model are you using, what are the related parameters you have chosen? More details pls..
There should normally be deformations at such high We (I hope you calculate your We using relative velocity between the drop and the surrounding gas phase). |
