Re: help install fluent in RedHat system

To install FLUENT on a linux box, you just need to run the ./fluent_install script and to set the path to Fluent.Inc in your bash (usually .bashrc in your home directory) configuration file. This procedure is explained in /Fluent.Inc/bin/readme.

To start FLUENT you have to write in the command line 'fluent' (not ./fluent) followed by the solver you want to use.
For example:

fluent 2d

starts the 2d single precision solver. Options are 2d, 2ddp, 3d and 3ddp.

If you don't specify any option, FLUENT will tell you something like:

The versions available in Fluent.Inc/fluent6.1.22/lnx86 are: 2d 2ddp 3d 3ddp

In this case, you just have to choose which version you want to use.

Hope this helps.

I don't believe why I cann't start the fluent in the Redhat 9.0 then the lastest redhat fedoral core2 ,even the suse 9.1 ,redhat enterprise as 3.0 .but the gambit is ok. Pls tell me ,what 's edition (7.1,7.2 ,8.0 ,9.0 or 9.1 of RH) you installed. I hope you can tell me the process of installing fluent. ps:I installed the fluent in term of the readme just like this:./fluent_install,then enter the path :/usr/local/fluent,then click the all,all ,yes.then it's ok.The questiong is still like above.
