pblm with udf_fluxes

hi I am trying to customusise convective term in trasport equation.( i am using user defined scalars equation). For the case i am simulating ,density of the fluid is not constant.Fluent menu suggests can be determined by averaging the adjacent cell's density values C_R(F_C0(f,t),THREAD_T0(f,t)) and C_R(F_C1(f,t),THREAD_T1(f,t)). Should we consider the boundary faces as in example 4.3.19 in fluent manual. Is some one having experience with customurising convective term of uds( I want only scalar independent of density).
