Hi friends, I have a problem in making geometry in Gambit. My geometry will be having a 3d-rectangular channel with heat generating chip inside. For my problem analysis, I am changing the position of chip, distance between the plates and size of the chip. To solve my problem, I have to do atleast some 70 times with varying different dimensions. But my geometry will be same but only dimensions will change. For this I want to reduce time for making geometry. Is it possible to change the dimesions of the geometry without creating geometry again and again, such that I can reduce my time and disk space. I am doing this problem in 3d. Can anyone help me to change the geometry dimensions without creating the geometry again and again.

Fluent might have a few options I havent tried but under the grid menu you can find translate. Another method would be meshing different components seperately and storign them and use Tmerge command from the command prompt to merge them. Tmerge has options to translate and rotate the mesh so you could move the chip by the desired distance and merge everything together. -Ajay
