unsteady problem
 

Hi i am doing unsteady calculations using VOF model.i have initial inlet profile defined by udf. All the other conditions are defined. How long i should continue calculating ..How to check out residual of each iteration step. it would be great if somone can explain this bye kethireddy

how long to run simulation :- Till your residuals obtain a constant amplitude.

How to check residuals :- Solve->Monitor->Residuals set the values as per your requirement and tick plot in the option to get the residual plot.

hi thanks for your reply.Actually i am dealing with developing waves.My convergence criteria is satisfied with in first few iterations how ever it will take time to obtain fully-developed waves of the film.i think you understand me now. waiting for ur answer regards kethireddy

I think once you can start getting smilar pattern in your residual plot you can stop
