fluidized bed drying

hi dears,my MS thesis is about simulation of "fluidized bed dryer" using FLUENT.but i dont know, which version of fluent can help me and can i compelete this project using fluent?i need dynamic mesh?how can i get fluent manual of fluidized bed?if anyone can help me,i'll be very glad.please send your response in my E-mail. regards ramandi

Re: fluidized bed drying

Usually the model of choice is the Eulerian Granular Model, even though in very diluited gas-solid flows, you can use the DPM (Lagrangian approach).

In the Eulerian Granular Model implemented in FLUENT 6.1, fluidized beds can be simulated considering both the fluid dynamics and the heat exchange, but not the species transport and the chemical reaction. This will be possible in FLUENT 6.2.

There isn't any tutorial on fluidization in FLUENT, but you can find many papers in the literature. Look for these authors: Gidaspow, Arastoopour, Peirano, Leckner, Zhang and many others. They did many works on the subject of CFD simulation of fluidized beds.
