high speed & temrature jet

hi; There is a L shape Duct that a high speed and high temprature jet(700m/s and 1500 k) enters to it throught a hole in the up side of the duct and exits from other side. A 45(deg) plat should deflect the jet to exit area but in fluent simulation it does not do this and jet does not impact to the plat and it attach to the duct wall. what should i do? please help me. thank you.

Re: high speed & temrature jet

Hi Hadi,

I had that that kind of problem while modelling a high speed hot air oven.

The air flow was recirculated through holes that where palced face to face along the duct. At first the the air jet was not going further than the duct wall (as in your case) and this was because my pressure gradient was not well defined between the flow inlet and outlet. As soon as I played with the pressure gradient the flow started to take place the way it should.

Check that out and let me know.

Re: high speed & temrature jet

Hi Carlos. I cheked my boundary conditions. In my problem speed of the jet is fix and at the exit of the duct flow enters to the atmosphier(101325 pa) then i cant chenge the exit pressure.phisically the flow should exit from the end of L shape duct but the stagnation pressure in the exit area is less than static pressure of the atmosphier. In the Operating Condition Panel i set operating pressure 101325 and in Boundary condition Panel for Pressure outlet boundary 0.0 I think my solution methode is incorrect. thanks.
