Choice of turbulent models for jet impingement
Hello,
I am currently working on submerged jet impingement cooling using the K-Epsilon "realizable" and K-Omega models. Could you give me the values of the wall Y+ that I should use with both these models? Thanks in advance for any suggestions. Akash |
Re: Choice of turbulent models for jet impingement
Would suggest starting with the one equation model, Spallart Allmaras. y+ vaues near 1, or over 30. check with the skin friction coefficient results from literature. that should give you a starting point.
Query: is this a supersonic jet impingment study that you are conducting? cheers Nandu |
Re: Choice of turbulent models for jet impingement
Hi Nandu,
Thanks for your input. I am modelling subsonic jet impingement. I tried the Spallat Allmaras model but my problem requires refinement near the wall and hence the need for enhanced treatment near the walls. This option is provided by the K-epsilon model and that is why I chose this model. Thanks, Akash |
