how to caculate flame volume???

Default how to caculate flame volume???

hello everybody:

i am caculating a combustion problem. and i can display the flame using oxygen mixture ratio from zero to 0.99.

but i dont know how to caculate the flame volume??should i use any function or user defined fuction???

A little obscure way but it always helped me (save your case/data before you attempt it): [1] Goto Adapt->Iso-value. Put min-max values and get the cells marked out of it. (make sure you use "0.9999999" rather than just "0.99"), [2] Goto Grid->Separate Cells. Pick your register (of just marked cells) and the fluid zone(select all if you are confused). Click on Report to see what it is going to do. If you are happy with that, do "Separate". It should create a separate fluid zone, [3] Goto Report->Volume integrals and find the volume of just separated fluid zone.

Of course, you have to throw away your case file once you do this calculation.

Not an easy way but it works fairly ok..

thanks a lot! i tried once and it worked well.but i dont know why you put the max value to 0.9999999.

and after i seperate the grid i got two fluid zone, the flame value should be the samll value, but i dont known how to make sure, can you give me some advice???
