Default 16 passages for one compressor

I want to simulate a compressor with 16 passages. And I use the Turbo model of Fluent. First I produce the meshes only for one passage. And then I want to copy the Volume and the meshes to produce the other 15 passages. But it exists errors. When I copy the volumes and meshes, the gambit exits automatic.

What is the problem? When you produce more than one passages, how do you produce the meshes?

Waiting for your answers! Thanks! annie

it is peroidci boundries. in which u assume that flow for other 15 passages are same. i.e with same inlet and outlet boudnary conditions

u need not to copy the other 15 volumes in gambit and it is also not requried to produe mesh for other 15 volumes, solver will know that u are going to use periodic boundary conditinos.

just import mesh to fluent and then u can view the all 16 passages with mesh. but that all are virtual and the mass flow rate u will get witl be 1/16 of total mass flow rate. so u have to multiy the extensive properties by 16 to get the whole domain properties.(intensve properties will be same as for one and for 16 passages, u know it!!!!)

regards

Thanks first! I am sorry, I don't explain clearly what is the problem. For the compressor there are 64 blades for the rotor. And I muss simulate the flow of 16 Passages, namely a quarter of the compressor. That is, I muss produce the meshes for 16 passages and solve simultaneously the flow of 16 passages.

In this case, have you any advice for the produce of meshes? Waiting for your answer. You can contact with me with MSN: anniejia_77@hotmail.com
