I need to save data for an unsteady simulation at various times of the simulation. For eg., if I run my simulations for 10 secs, is it possible to save data at times 2, 5, 8, 10 secs etc?

Use the autosave feature to save the dat file every X number of time steps. This is set-up under the File-Write menu.

Last time i was facing problem using auto-save feature because of large number of data files(more than 500) to be stored. I used the execute macro approach. For details, have a look on post" data saving - sawa , Tue, 19 Oct 2004, 7:34 a.m". Good Luck

You can safe the data at irregular intervals. For that you have to write a separate journal file and there you have to specify number of time steps and after that you have to write the data. For this one you see the fluent manual. You have to use fluent commands. It is very easy and simple one. For example After initializing the solution, in a note pad write sequence of commands to be executed.
