Breakout detected

Im having a problem meshing a face using the triangular scheme. The error code generated is:

Breakout detected ERROR: TG_Mesh_surface failed with error code 1 ERROR: For an unknown reason, face_v_face_456 could not be meshed using the triangular scheme.

I'm not sure how can I rectify this problem. Hope someone can give me an idea.Thank you.

Im still stuck here..I cant move on, Im not sure why its giving me this error, when I have succesfully completed this same model before. Anybody experienced this before

Re: Breakout detected

First step is to find which face it is. You say you've meshed this model before... has there been any change to this face from the previous model? It's virtual geometry (I'm assuming from the v in the face name, unless you've renamed your geometry), how was the virtual geometry created? Could you have merged faces together this time around that weren't merged before? Shade just this face and the adjacent faces and look for any problems, like the face twisting on itself (that's not exactly what's happening, but that's how it looks when you shade it). Also, if the adjacent faces were able to mesh then look at the mesh on the edges of face 456, this will help highlight problem areas. If you see any problem areas then the best thing to do is to fix your geometry. If that's not possible, then you MIGHT be able to split the face at the problem area. One technique is to split the edge at the problem area, and then split the face by vertices.

Actually, what the best thing to do is to get a new meshing program (they've talked about some good ones in previous posts), but that's not always possible (I'm stuck using Gambit as well... company won't spring for a new package even if my productivity would sky-rocket).

Good luck, Jason
